The quick version: Working with life force energy, this wonderfully relaxing and rewarding treatment, aids healing, reduces pain, and offers holistic balance. This can be applied hands on, hands off or even as a distance healing. The longer version: The word Reiki is made up of 2 japanese words- Rei which means 'Gods wisdom' or 'higher power' Ki which means 'life force energy'. While Reiki is spiritual in nature it is not a religion. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Based on the idea that and unseen 'life force energy' flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's 'life force energy' is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being healthy and happy. During Reiki treatment there is a transfer of energy from the practitioner to the recipient, which helps the body's innate ability to heal itself. Reiki requires that a client accepts responsibility for their healing and take an active part in it. There for, Reiki is more than transfer of energy. It must also include an active commitment to improving oneself in order for it to be a complete system. Reiki can be administered through hands on or hands off techniques in accordance to the method best siting the recipient, there maybe occasion to use both techniques. Additionally techniques such as healing breath and dousing may be used by therapists experienced in those fields. Whilst there are a number of variations in techniques the ethos remains the same for all Reiki. N.B. due to the nature of this treatment type exact timings are not possible. Most treatments take between 25 and 60 minutes, additional time is allowed to ensure the fullest possible treatment is available to you.

Cancellation Policy

A deposit of £10 is required at least 5 days prior to treatments. This is refundable on cancellations or curtailment where notice greater than 24 hours prior to scheduled appointment is given.
